JODY COOPER IAAI-CFI, CFEI, CVFI
Mr. Cooper has over 42 years of law enforcement investigation skills. The last 39 years include conducting forensic fire origin and cause investigations of fires, with training in interviewing techniques and the counseling of juvenile fire setters. Mr. Cooper holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Accounting and is a certified peace officer in Oklahoma. He is a former part-time instructor for Oklahoma State University College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology. He is a former instructor for Oklahoma State University Fire Service Training, He is a current instructor for the Public Agency Training Council and The Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training. He is a Nationally Certified Fire Investigator (IAAI-CFI) a Nationally Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), and a Nationally Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) and holds an Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate in Oklahoma, the highest level of training that can be given to an Oklahoma Peace Officer. Jody is a Nationally Certified Fire Inspector holding a Level I and Level II certification. He has conducted forensic origin and cause investigations of fires in: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, Louisiana, California and Colorado. He has worked with the Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm’s National Response Team on fire investigations in Oklahoma.
The National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications confirmed that Jody Cooper having been examined by an accredited agency in the National Professional Qualifications System is certified as “Fire Investigator” meeting the NFPA 1033 standard.
